The Biogas Revolution for Healthier Lives has been honored with the Best Environmental Film Award at the Mumbai Short and Documentary Film Festival!
The documentary tells the inspiring story of Yashoda, a Sakhi with Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP) from Solapur district, who is tackling climate, health, food, and livelihood challenges in her community—one biodigester at a time. These devices turn cattle dung into clean biogas, reducing reliance on firewood, improving health, and generating income.
The film highlights how SSP empowers grassroots women like Yashoda to become entrepreneurs and changemakers by promoting green energy solutions and sustainable practices. This award is a tribute to the powerful work of SSP’s Urja Sakhis and their efforts to build climate-resilient communities across rural India.
