Sangita Dhabale from Chandeshwar village, Bidar district, Karnataka, was once a homemaker with no background in farming or business. Like many women in her community, she had no land ownership or financial independence. Yet, she dreamt of building a self-reliant future for herself and others.

Organic farming seemed riskyβ€”unpredictable weather, no irrigation, and lack of land security. But everything changed when she connected with Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP) and learned about their Women-led Climate Resilient Farming (WCRF) model. Within a year, Sangita transformed her life. From owning just two animals, she expanded into dairy and poultry farming with SHG loans, acquiring 10 more animals. She prepared organic fertilizers like Jivamruta and Nimboli Ark and successfully introduced them on 20 gunta land, resulting in healthier crops and reduced costs.

Her success inspired her family to fully embrace organic farming. Driven by this, Sangita mobilized 110 women, training them in leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. As a result, 80 families adopted sustainable farming. She facilitated irrigation support worth β‚Ή3.85 lakh for 30 farmers and bank linkages of β‚Ή10–13 lakh for 13 SHGs.In 2024, her efforts were recognized with the Channabasava Kannada Ranta Prasasthi by the Karnataka government.
