Kushavati got married in 2003 and spent over a decade working hard as a farmer and homemaker, yet she had no financial independence. Despite doing all the work, her family believed women were not independent enough. In 2018, everything changed when she attended a session by SSP. She began her journey toward independence with SSPโ€™s support. She started earning, gained confidence, and found a purpose. Today, she not only supports her family but is able to give her children the quality education she never hadโ€”becoming a symbol of change in her community.

As a grassroots leader, Kushavati promotes sustainable farming, clean energy, and womenโ€™s entrepreneurship. She leads efforts under the Women-led Community Resilient Farming (WCRF) model and connects women to government schemes, banks, and training programs. She advocates for biogas, organic certification, and community health.

She has trained 150 women in sustainable agriculture and supported 100 women in bio-farming using 200 vermicompost beds. She helped 48 farmers adopt biogas, aided 50 women in securing organic certification, and connected 144 to government support. Under her guidance, 100 women launched 70 businesses.

Thanks to her efforts, 119 families shifted to organic farming, and 48 now use biogas. Her work brought in Rs. 1.34 crores in schemes and Rs. 14 lakhs in bank credit. She now aims to support 500 new enterprises and train 500 more farmers.
