Consultant For The Impact Study of 810 Women’s Entrepreneurship Program- "Repositioning Repositioning Rural Women As Advanced Entrepreneurs & Business Leaders In Latur District

The Project : The project intends to train and create 810 women entrepreneurs from low-income communities in Ausa Block of Latur district as entrepreneurs in 3 major commodities, i.e., milk, vegetables, and pulses, through building knowledge, skills, and attitudes and providing continuous mentoring and business support to these women. To establish 400 new businesses, including 200 milk businesses, 100 vegetable businesses, and 100 pulse businesses, which have created job opportunities for their family members and others also in the value chain. Along with supporting and handholding, a network of 6,000+ customers will be created in urban and rural areas to create a long-term market for the product produced by these women entrepreneurs in the nearby locality.
Need :

SSP is implementing a project on women entrepreneurship supported by Avendus. Learning more about the project execution process and impact created will be crucial for future projects, which has led to a planned impact study of the said project.

In this regard, SSP is currently looking for a consultant or external agency who can support the SSP team in conducting an impact study in terms of analysing processes and systems involved in project implementation and tracking impact (qualitative as well as quantitative). The consultant would work with the Director Programs & Programme Manager to conduct impact study-related activities.

Assignment In Brief

Key components of the project would be:

  • Develop data collection tools, interview tools, and tests based on project outcomes.
  • To conduct research and data collection through field visits, conduct meetings with various stakeholders to understand the project’s impact and effectiveness, focusing on project activities and outcome indicators of 810 Women Entrepreneurs.
  • To analyse the collected data and create extensive impact reports with suggestions.

Deliverables:

Deliverables of the assignment is the impact study report along with data in terms of analysing processes and systems involved in project implementation and tracking impact (qualitative as well as quantitative) of the Avendus support project with the following outcomes during the programme period:

  • 500 women farmers producing milk have built strong knowledge about the milk business and successfully carried out all the activities related to it for the best results.
  • 200 women entrepreneurs from three commodity businesses (milk, vegetables, and pulses) have been actively engaged in the business activities and designed systems and processes for carrying out best business practices to achieve higher standards to meet desired quality services, which lead to satisfying consumers.
  • The entire business process has been streamlined in terms of ensuring quality and providing the best possible services.
  • Women farmers involved in the process have developed skills through training provided on the usage of online marketing platforms to access customers.
  • Increase in the income of at least 200 entrepreneurs and farmers from milk and daily products, vegetables, and farm produce, and further, they will enter the milk or vegetable value chain.
 

Contract Period

The contract period for the consultancy will be three months, and at the sole discretion of Swayam Shikshan Prayog management, the targeted starting date is October 1, 2023. If there are any delays in the programme’s execution, the consultant will be informed accordingly.

Terms & Conditions

The contract shall be governed by the standard terms of service contracts of the organisation and the conditions outlined in the contract and in the organisation’s policies.

Adherence to policies: During your services with the organisation, you will be governed by the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations with respect to conduct, discipline, and other matters framed by the organisation and as amended from time to time. SSP believes in full compliance with legal provisions and practices and works towards this end. The organisation’s policies include a comprehensive safeguarding framework that covers important subjects such as code of conduct and ethics, prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) and PSEA, child labor, whistleblower protection, conflict of interest, etc. You may request access to these policies and will be bound by all the provisions thereunder.


Qualifications & Experience

  1. A consultant or agency must have enough qualifications to conduct an impact study on social or rural development.
  2. The consultant or agency must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and an expert team with a demonstrated track record of keen interest to conduct the impact study.

Remuneration

REMUNERATION will be on par with social sector norms. Interested candidates are expected to make a financial offer equal to their minimum expectations.

Selection Process

A shortlist of a maximum of three consultants will be established based on expressions of interest. The shortlist will be evaluated on the basis of their updated resume, their financial offer, and their reference check by Swayam Shikshan Prayog:

  • Academic qualifications
  • Years of project management and relevant economic development or sector experience
  • Experience working with international organisations and government
  • Language proficiency (English, Hindi)

Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully handled similar assignments. Weightage will also be given to candidates with whom Swayam Shikshan Prayog had prior satisfactory associations.

The management committee of Swayam Shikshan Prayog will make the final selection,which may include telephonically interviewing the shortlisted candidates, and the decision of the committee will be final and binding.
