SSP is currently looking for a Consultant for the conducting Mid-term External Evaluation for the program on “Improved Access to Clean Energy and Nature Based Solutions through Women Entrepreneurs /Sakhi Network in underserved villages in Bihar, India” being implemented by Swayam Shikshan Prayog” with the support of Misereor. Based on the requirement of the assignment, the consultant is supposed to complete the Mid-term Project Evaluation Report with Case Studies, Problems, Impact, Challenges and Recommendations from the field visits. This mid-term program evaluation will study the impact and sustainability of the WCRF and clean energy entrepreneurship model. The evaluation will also analyze the project’s scalability and suggest corrective measures for future replication of the model.

The program on “Improving access to clean energy through women’s entrepreneurship in Nalanda and Gaya districts in Bihar” is being implemented by Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP) with the support of Misereor.

Need:

SSP is currently looking for a Consultant for the Mid-term Evaluation Report on “Improving access to clean energy through women’s entrepreneurship in Nalanda and Gaya districts in Bihar” being implemented by Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP) with the support of Misereor. Based on the requirement of the assignment, the consultant is supposed to complete the Mid-term Project Evaluation Report with Case Studies, Problems, Impact, Challenges and Recommendations from the field visits before 31st January, 2026. This mid-term program evaluation will study the impact and sustainability of the WCRF and clean energy entrepreneurship model. The evaluation will also analyze the project’s scalability and suggest corrective measures for future replication of the model. The assignment will be carried out through physical and virtual interviews and desk research.

Assignment in Brief:

Key components of the project would be:

• Meetings with the field team for compilation of data required for the report.
• Draft Report with Insights, Sakhi profiles with study/data on the increase in their economic status and Case Studies
• Submission of Final Report

Outputs and Deliverables:

• Project Evaluation Report with Sakhi profiles with study/data on the increase in their economic status and Case Studies/Best Practices from the project operational villages
• Analysis of project’s scalability and suggest corrective measures for future replication of the model.

Contract Period:

Contract period for the consultancy will be for a period from 1st January 2026 to 28th February 2026 on terms and conditions agreed mutually. The Contract will be governed by standard terms of service contracts of the organization and will be shared with shortlisted candidates upon request.

Qualification & Experience:

1. Consultant / Agency must have enough qualification in writing Case Studies and Insights Reports in social development /rural development
2. Consultant / Agency must have minimum 5 years of experience and expert team with demonstrated track record of keen interest to conduct the impact study.

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be on par with the norms in the Social sector. Interested candidates are expected to make a financial offer of their minimum expectation.

Selection Process:

A shortlist of minimum three consultants will be established based on expressions of interest. The shortlist will be evaluated on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume, financial offer and their reference check by Swayam Shikshan Prayog:

• Academic qualifications
• Years of project management and relevant economic development /sector experience
• Experience in working with international organizations and Government
• Language proficiency (English, Hindi).

Preference will be given to candidates having successfully handled similar assignment. Weightage will also be given to candidates with whom Swayam Shikshan Prayog had prior satisfactory association.

Final selection will be by a Management Committee of Swayam Shikshan Prayog, who may telephonically interview the shortlisted candidates and the decision of the Committee will be final and binding.
