Championing WASH and Gender Equality at the Grassroots
Rakhi Tajane is a dedicated grassroots leader of #SwayamShikshanPrayog.from Kalabeswar Village, Malegaon Block, Washim District, Maharashtra. Under the #oraclefinancialservicessoftware supported project, she has made remarkable contributions to improving WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and promoting gender equality within her community. By actively engaging with schools and Gram Panchayats, Rakhi has emerged as a strong advocate for sustainable and inclusive community development.One of her major achievements includes the successful implementation of community-led WASH initiatives, which have improved access to clean water and sanitation facilities in her village. She has trained 145 women and youth in gender sensitivity, hygiene practices, and leadership skills, equipping them to become change agents in their communities. Rakhi also collaborated with schools and local governance bodies to lead awareness campaigns on menstrual hygiene management and gender equality. Her efforts in mobilizing resources have enabled the construction and maintenance of critical sanitation infrastructure.
