Indrabai Anna Sathe, a determined homemaker from Javkheda Thombre village in Jalna, Maharashtra, has shown us that with resilience and the right support, dreams can turn into reality.
Life wasnโt easy for Indrabai, who struggled to provide for her family of six. With no steady income and limited resources, everyday challenges felt overwhelming. Yet, Indrabai held onto her dream of creating a better future for her family.
Her journey took a transformative turn in December 2023 when she joined the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) implemented by Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP). Equipped with entrepreneurship training and newfound confidence, she took a bold step and started two pani puri stalls, managed by her sons.
By applying insights from the training – like choosing the right location, ensuring hygiene, and maintaining consistent quality – Indrabaiโs business quickly became a favorite among the villagers. Today, her daily earnings range between โน700 and โน1,000, giving her family financial stability and the ability to save for the future.
But the story doesnโt stop there! Indrabaiโs success has ignited a spark of inspiration in her community. Seeing her thrive, other women in the village are exploring self-employment opportunities, proving that empowerment is contagious.
Indrabaiโs journey is a shining example of how programs like SVEP can unlock the potential of rural women. Through determination, mentorship, and support, she has transformed from a homemaker into a role model and leader.
Today, with a monthly income of approximately โน30,000, Indrabai dreams of expanding her business while continuing to inspire others to embrace entrepreneurship.
Her story reminds us: When women rise, communities flourish. Letโs celebrate the power of resilience and the impact of opportunities.ย
