Shivkanya Ramphale is a young household from Hasanabad village in Jalna district, Maharashtra. Despite academic excellence, she often faced financial difficulties to get quality education. Her strong determination led her to complete her higher secondary education and pursue a diploma in agriculture. However, her personal life presented further obstacles. A strained marital relationship forced her and her three-year-old son to return to her parental home in 2023. Shivkanya struggled with stress and uncertainty, but her resilience remained intact.
To rebuild her life with prosperity and happiness, she joined the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) training organized by Swayam Shikshan Prayog in December 2023. Through the training, Shivkanya gained exposure to various aspects of an entrepreneur. Encouraged by the community resource person for enterprise promotion (CRPEP), she underwent training on small business management, marketing strategies, and customer service. Shivkanya showed exceptional skills and was selected as a CRPEP. The SVEP program offered INR 50,000 as Community Enterprise Fund to set up her own CSC Xerox Centre in the village with features of Xerox copying, color printing, and Aadhaar card-related assistance. With SSPโs guidance with the support of SVEP, she also adopted effective marketing, branding, and communication strategies.
Her business now generates a daily income of โน300 to โน400 per day and provides a decent income for her family. This steady income has allowed her to support her son for education, improvement in standard of living, self-confidence, and recognition.
Shivkanya plans to expand her business by adding more services to her Xerox Centre and opening a small general store. Her journey is a testament to the transformative potential of initiatives supported by SSP under SVEP programme.Today, Shivkanya earns a monthly income of approximately โน7,000, steadily working toward her dreams while inspiring others in her community to rise above challenges and create success in their lives. Her entrepreneurial journey has not only transformed her life but has also inspired many other women in the community to pursue self-employment.
